WHO drew this?

Derek is the artist. OEREK is the spirit.

Derek Wan is a tattoo artist and visual storyteller from Hong Kong.
Before OEREK, he studied contemporary art but broke away fast — teaching himself by carving ink into his own skin in 2019. That first scar was the start: tattoos that felt more like experiments than designs.

His work is freehand, restless, mischievous. Eyes that stare back. Creatures that don’t sit still. Doodles balancing humor and unease. The lines are bold, chaotic, yet strangely tender — proof that ink can be both scar and play.

His lines prove that ink can be both scar and play —
trash reborn as identity,
not erased but remade.

Since founding OEREK INK in 2020, Derek has moved through many forms: tattoos, murals, canvases, remade clothing. Collabs, tattoo expos, painting series — always one-offs, never repeats. OEREK leaves a mark that doesn’t fade into silence.

For Derek, a tattoo is never “finished.” The moment ink hits skin is when it starts to breathe — shifting, aging, changing with the body. That belief drives everything he does: art that won’t sit still, but keeps living.

“Where weird feels right.”
